Queen’s Meal Plan: Overview

Many students who come to Queen’s are on a meal plan through their residence. This is an excellent option for those who want to have their meals taken care of and not have to worry about cooking or going out to eat. Queen’s dining options provide a variety of food choices for students. There are many different restaurants on campus that students can go to using their meal plan money. Queen’s also has a food court in the JDUC which has multiple places to eat. Students not on the Queen’s meal plan can still eat on campus by purchasing a Queen’s Meal Card. This card can be loaded with money and used at any of the Queen’s dining locations.

Queen’s Residence Meal Plan

The meal plan for all students living in residence consists of:

  • 19 All-You-Care-To-Eat Meals per week in your choice of the three on-campus dining halls.
  • 200 Trade a Meals (TAM) – “trade-in” one of your dining hall meals for designated TAM specials in participating retail locations! Locations include Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Pita Pit, Booster Juice and more!
  • 145 Flex $ – Flex dollars work like cash and can be redeemed at several retail locations on campus for Fresh to Go items and single-serve snacks like drinks, baked goods, etc.

This meal plan is included in your residence fees, and there is no option to opt-out.

How Does the Queen’s Meal Plan Work?

There are seven different options to choose from. Prices for meal plans range anywhere from $899 – $6740, depending on what you’re looking for. You can also purchase any amount of Flex $ at any time. Meal plans offered range from only TAM’s or only dining hall swipes or a combination of both. For more information, take a look here.
